Well those of you who like the ford racing strut tower brace, Steeda added a new one to there line up which is very similar to the ford racing brace that had a plaque on it. Just thought you might want to check it out. Its only 160 bucks.

If the most I ever plan on racing is either up the interstate ramp or to the stop light, does this give any benefit at all? Seems like just extra weight. Is it made to stiffen the car in the corners?

Yes is designed to stiffen up front suspension, just like swaybar down below, this ties the upper struts together, causing it to be stiffer, less roll etc. Should be nice !

question - could the Steeda tower strut brace interfere with a possible future
"Powered by Ford" manifold cover? ...if it's ever available?

Well I have not ordered it, just passing it on. This is like the other brace I posted a few weeks back, except it was from ford racing and had there badge on it. They look fairly nice and solid. I doubt it would get in the way with an engine cover, because those are usually pretty closely attached to the engine, but you never know till you have both. But as for which one I would rather have would be the brace to help, not a shiny piece of plastic, but to each there own. I am also considering the cdc shaker system, but again this is for looks for me. Wouldnt be able to do the shaker thats for sure with this brace.

I like it. It would look cool if it was painted body color. Just my $0.02

Um, no. It does not do what a swaybar does in any way shape or form. The strut tower brace stiffens the unibody and prevents the body from deflecting when you put a lot of cornering force through the front end. A swaybar connects the two control arms, making them less independent and limiting the relative difference in control arm travel between left and right, which reduces body roll.

Given how beefy the new chassis seems to be I would DOUBT that this brace will have the same effect as it would on a Fox car. But I could be wrong- people are going to need some first-hand feedback in order to know the truth. I have a strut brace on my Volkswagen and best believe it makes a difference, cause the frame is so sloppy to begin with

That brace is sweet! I like flat black, it portrays a message that means that it is there for function not just looks. Not too flashy. Count me in for this mod!

Ford puts a nice, beefy brace on the 500 and Montego. Can't figure out why they don't offer one for the Mustang...why let $$$$ slip by?
