Thumbs up

Looks like majority of peeps have been going with the Eibach springs for the Stang. I am curious about the Steeda springs. On their site there is the lengthy article about "clocking" the spring vs how other companies have done it.

Is this just marketing babble or is there something actually to it? Also, the drop seems more conservative with Steeda vs the others. Are people happy with Steeda?

Looking for pics with the Steeda drop and stock wheels (17").

Thanks in advance.

My Steeda Comp springs were put on last week when they did the strut bearings. I think most people won't even notice the amount it lowers the car, but I could tell immediately, and that it is sitting more evenly [rear is down]. I haven't had any rubbing problems. It seems a little firmer, but not a lot.

I still DO have a clicking problem when I brake though, so I'm taking it back in on Friday [8-12]. We'll see where that is coming from.

I took some before pics and I will take some after pics to post here.

I have had for about 5 months now. I have had zero problems. Dropped it just a tiny bit more then an inch. Perfect for what I was looking for. Handles better, ride is a little rougher but not too bad.

I'm not a "peep" but I'll tell you my impressions tomorrow after I get my Steeda rear springs installed. The Steeda srpings lower the car about a 1/2" less than the Eibach Pro-Kit.

Also, you asked for pics with 17" wheels. The size of the wheel's not going to matter. If you're wanting to see how the wheel well gap looks, it's the size (diameter) of the tire you should be asking about. 27.2" is stock.

That would be cool. I keep reading these posts about maxed out on adjustments for alignment, rear axle gets pushed out etc...

The rear axle and panhard bar makes sense (Pythagorean Theorem)...just dont want a snowball affect by swapping springs and having to change a ton of stuff.

The Steeda kit does sound like it's easier on the wear-and-tear of the components. I'm a little on the fence about whether to go with the Steeda or Eibach springs. Anybody have pics of the Steeda vs. Eibach springs installed?

I've installed mine, but no pics yet. Too dark once we we done. I am AMAZED at how much 1" is when lowering a car! When we first sat it back down we both though "Uh oh. Something's wrong that WAY too much." Then we checked the measurements and it was 1-1/16". (I only lowered the rear)

As for putting the rear end off center, here's what happened. Mine was 3/4" off (towards the driver's side) from the factory. Most '05's are off center, it just isn't noticable untill you lower it or put bigger wheels & tires on. The dealership was able to move it over about a 1/4" with the stock, non-adjustable panhard bar. Now here's the kicker. Lowering it moved it over ANOTHER 1/4" at least!

I'll take some pics and post tomorrow if anyone wants to see them.

Thanks for the update. I think the BMR panhard bar is a no brainer to get to fix the axle issue. The pics of the Legend Lime looks awesome..can wait to see yours.

Just installed the Steeda springs Friday. Didn't have it aligned yet. Gonna do it Monday. The ride is great. This was exactly the look I wanted. Really didn't want to go lower, just wanted to close in the gaps between the tires and the fenders. The kit lowered it 1 1/8 in the rear and about 3/4 in the front. Will keep you posted on the alignment and how much my rear end shifted.

I've had the Steedas for about two months. Also have the BMR adj panhard bar. Love them both. The ride height is perfect, IMO. I have some pics in other sections. This is with just the rears on. Sat pretty level, but to me didn't look quite right. The gap on the front was a little more then the rear. After the fronts where on the front gap was pretty equal and the car had a very slight rake.

I don't see the difference, are these the same pics?

Here's one for you: (and I though it was going to be easy to order Steeda springs)

What's the difference between these different Steeda Spring kits?
(besides the obvious: Base, Sport, Ultra, Comp, or costs, etc)

Amount of drop?
Amount of comfort?
Weight difference?

See what I mean?

All four P/N's work on Mustang 05's.

Steeda Springs for 05 Mustang SLP555-8215
Steeda Sport Springs for 05 Mustang SLP555-8216
Steeda Ultralite Springs for 05 Mustang SLP555-8206
Steeda Competition Springs for 05 Mustang SLP555-8241
