Steeda intake w/ sct-2 tuner = :(

Ok well first I will start off by saying that i will not mention the company i purchased the stuff from because it was super great customer service and shipping was super fast.

Ok here is my problem... pypes O/R h pipe + filter on 89 octane i ran a 8.9 @ 80.3 mph

now.

those mods + steeda udp's, steeda intake w/ steeda elbow + sct tuner for my mods

9.1 @ 78 mph WTF

very similar track conditions both times...both were with same tire/rim combo....

i tried all 3 tunes supplied...tried different gas mixtures....i know the tunes are uploaded because my CEL for my no cats isnt there...but reguardless of which tune i run it on car just seems the same...my car would ping stock on 87 octane....now i can run the high octane tune on 87 and no ping...no hesitation...nada...just runs like normal just slower!

I"ve read over and over about how the car is completely different with the tuner and intake...and well nothing changed except my cel light is now off

When u open the options for the sct-2...and say u were to click on WOT air/fuel...should it already be adjusted or will it show 0? I looked into it thinking it would be adjusted...but after seeing it wasnt thought that possibly its like that so people cant duplicated tunes from tuners...anyone know?

sorry my message is scattered..im just here frustrated and cant talk to a tuner till tuesday

Sounds like something is definetly wrong in the borderline knock or MBT spark tables. I would contact your tuner right away. Where was it pinging? Maybe in the mean time to be safe if you have the end user adjustability you could bump down the timing 1 degree at a time in the problematic area until your situation is cleared up? Let me know if theres anything we can do here to help until you speak with whoever you purchased from.

There are many other factors as well. What gas mixtures were you trying? Was the car warmed up when the pinging and issues happened?

well i have also heard great things about your tunes and i am a very impatient (not in a negative way) person ....can you shoot me a pm about the price for 91 "agressive" tune....i dont drive my car much and am basically just looking for some pull top end. My understanding is that i can upload tunes to my sct-2 via the liveload program?

All help would be greatly appreciated,
Alex

and as far as the pinging ...no what so ever...even tried some 100 unleaded race gas with 3 gallons of that with 1 1/2 gallons 91...and felt even slower..it almost seems as if 93 octane is over kill for the tune and just running WAY to rich

If it makes you feel any better, I put on a 93 Octane Performance tune and a JLT Cold Air kit. My car ran .15 better, and .84mph improvement.

I tried the 87 Octane tune, and even though I bettered my 60 foot time substantially, the car dropped off a .10 and 1mph.

Yee hah.
