Steeda Cowl Induction Hood
#1
This is IMO one of the best aftermarket pieces of fiberglass body pieces that I have ever had experience with. It is $469.00 as many of you already know, include about $125.00 for shipping if you can have it delivered to a buisness address or $150.00 to your own home. I wanted to save a few bucks in having the car painted so I mounted it myself. I thought that this would be tough given previous fiberglass hoods, deck lids, and doors that I have mounted on Mustangs. It was a breeze. It took me and one other person to remove the "old" hood and install the "new" hood. Steeda's hood comes with great construction, double layered with a perfect finish. A finish so good that it is probably pretty close to Performance White. The look is awesome, especially from in the car! After mounting to the factory bolt holes and installing the factory latch I only needed to adjust it 1/8th of an inch! It fits perfectly and looks professional. My only task I have ahead is to relocate the washer fluid squirters. I am thinking of moving them to the plastic cowling under the hood. I would appreciate input from anyone who has this hood and has figured out what to do with the squirters. Mounting them on top of the hood I feel would be too high and spray over the windshield.

I can ad some pics today but the hood is still white on a Sonic Blue car. I am sure that you can understand that a limited budget has forced me to save for painting.

Hey Derek: What is the weight difference between the hoods?

Maybe 10 Ibs or so heavier? I could live with that. I'm really anxious to see how the cowl hood will jive w/the stripes! I think it's going to be killer! I've been considering this hood myself. Derek did you talk to JBA about the motor mount/sensor bung issue? Thanks for the info, that's one freak'n bad hieny Pony!

Justin, I haven't discussed the motor mount issue with JBA yet. I purchased my headers/h-pipe thru performancecenter.com and have been e-mailed by them concerning an issue with a change by JBA to the header prior to making/shipping any more. They have told me that the header will be shipped the first week of February and the h-pipe shipped on the last week of January. I assume that this is to address this issue but even if it doesn't I was considering purchasing the motor mounts Steeda offers anyway, it would be good timing to do both mount/header at the same time as I understand it. Thanks for the compliment on the car, I think this car will be a nice contrast to my GT350 coupe replica (1966) that is white with blue stripes.

Subleminal message not received; however, I did read your post. My problem lies in that my wife has driven the car to work and will be getting off (work) in about 15 minutes, takes her 20 minutes to get home. Patience is a virtue. Give me about an hour.

Okay, the subliminal thing was taken too literally ...No problem on the wait...I'm only rushing because mine is due to have the factory hood painted tomorrow and I want to see how much I like the cowl hood first, as I may wait and just buy one of those to have painted instead....WOOT! Look forward to the pics bro.....Your wife is lucky to get a turn to drive it!!!!

Sorry for the delay.

Time frame was for this month but could be longer due to wipeout of funds over Christmas. I plan to put two white stripes on it like adrenalin has. BTW, adrenalin, what are the dimensions of your stripes if you don't mind?

Sounds like it'll be great whenever you are able to do it Derek....If you can come anywhere close to what John (Adrenalin) pulled off with his then it'll be a sight to behold.....definitely keep us all posted......take care!
