Steeda Cai Opinion For 2006 Gt
hey all,
i have heard a lot about the cai that people are using and with mixed results. tuning problems and such. i am in the process of putting parts on my 2006 and 2003 and creating "steeda" mustangs. what is your opinions on the steeda cai and tune for the 2006? all are welcome. yes, i probably could get another cai but i want to keep with the "steeda" theme. any thoughts??

I have the Steeda inlet and elbow and really like it. I've heard of folks having problems with the elbow warping but it hasn't happened to me. I use my car for lapping days at least once a month through the summer so it gets pretty hot.
I don't have a Steeda tune so I can't address that part of your question.

I have the CAI and elbow. The only things I don't like are the airbox and trim (could be better built) and the fact that you need to move the vacume line reducer from the factory tube over to the Steeda elbow, which is a pita.
Performance-wise? no complaints.

I've been running the Steeda CAI for almost 3 years now and I absolutely love it. Fitment is excellent and the re-useable air filter that they use is one of the best, in regards to size, on the market. As for the tuning part, just get Bama, Brenspeed, or any other respected tuner to make you a tune. Just make sure you let them know that it's a 90mm MAF CAI. Also, get the high flow inlet tube from Steeda. It's a nice addition to the CAI unit. You can get the molded plastic or the new carbon fibre tube.

Steeda CAI is great! I go back and forth between this and the Racer setup as the top two intakes out there.
No tuning problems, just the base value file for them sucks so most tuners out there hate that they cant just "point, click, tune" no pun intended.
C&L Racer / Steeda w/HF Inlet are the top two performing intakes based on our dyno results.
Let me know if you're interested in a package deal with SCT tunes! In stock for same-day shipping.

I went with the steeda CAI and high flow elbow on my 06 and couldnt be happier.I bought the SCT scanner at the same time and loaded the 93 octane tune with tremendous results.I think the fit and finish of this system is outstanding and i would recommend it to anyone .I found out first hand how much difference the high flow elbow makes, the first time i downloaded the tune I forgot to check the box for the elbow and i had lean codes in the first mile of driving, after correcting my mistake it has ran great with no problems . Thanks Steeda for such a great product .
