Steeda CAI and LTFT / STFT (Fuel Trims)
I was datalogging my 07 GT with the Steeda CAI and noticed the LTFT/STFT trends "lean", about +5%-+7% for STFT, and I see as much as +10% for LTFT. I have been using the Shelby GT MAF transfer function thinking that it was made for the Shelby and Ford must have the proper tuning, but looking at Steeda's 90mm MAF transfer function value file, the flow for the Steeda is about 10% or higher up to 3V.
My datalog shows the Shelby MAF function is consistently leaner (which I assume is leaner given that the Fuel Trims are positive) up to about 3.0V at which point the Steeda MAF is richer.
If I load the Steeda MAF function, it will be consistently higher (numerically) for the flow up to 3.0V, am I going down the right path to address a positive fuel trim percentage?
