Steeda Brake duct kit
Steeda Brake duct kit
Has anyone installed the Steeda brake duct kit on a GT and have pictures to show how it looks completed?
I like the looks of the Agent Forty Seven duct kit and lower replacement grill but I can't justify the nearly $500 spend ($195 for the duct kit and $270ish for the grill).
Steeda's kit is just $119 and a Ford replacement lower grill less than $50. I was thinking about cutting (drilling) out the honeycomb sections that matches the existing hole in the bumper cover behind the stock lower grill.
Then I could pop in a stock grill without the holes for routine driving and just use the grill with the holes for the track.

I looked at the install directions, they sent me, and the thing is a joke, its just an air tubing some clamps and a cheap looking piece. If I do this mod, I would get it from agent 47, theres look better quality and they have a bracket that bolts right with the caliper to direct it properly, the steeda is like zip tied junk. So anyway if you are interested in a decent looking brake kit try agent 47

I saw an older link where they also modded it for a different fascia, so I was thinking about getting this and seeing if they are doing anything for the gt grill etc.
good luck

(Not Steeda's strongsuit but..........)
I bough the Agent47 setup recently, but haven't installed it yet. It's a nice setup and quality product. I'm just waiting for a time to install it, along with new pads and SS lines. (it's too friggin hot outside right now!)
I thought it was worth giving it a shot to try and eliminate the brake fading that comes from the stock setup.
If you don't want to fork over the cash for a bottom grill, you could only buy the duct kit and fabricate (cut holes) it to work with your stock grill.

I would agree with everyone on this mod. If you are a serious track racer then a brake duck cooling kit would be in order but for a street car it seems like a big waste of money.
+1 on the pads, ss lines and or rotors first.

If I made a list of 110 mods, brake ducting would be #125 on the list. I would of had to put mudflaps with reflectors and curb feeler and a tweety bird steering wheel cover because I ran out of stuff to buy before a duct kit.
lol Kevin you can only have tweety bird if a)your a chick or b)the mudflaps where the redneck kind with the nudes on em.
Seems like its usless anyway. The brakes have cooler air passing by them which removes the warmer air anyway.

Brake ducts do work on a street car. I guess most people in this thread know little about other makes and models. Do you think that Chevy puts brake ducts on the Z06 for aesthetics??? What about BMW on the M3? There are many street cars that come from the factory with some sort of brake ducting.
Here is another alternative for you. www.quantummotorsports.com
Pretty clear there is absolutely no understanding of *why* you do brake upgrades.

Nothing like a good soaking of the brakes on rainy days. I just don't see any possible use for it on the road.
