Was watching speed channel the other night around 11 at night on I think it was Thursday. They had a commentary about the new Pontiac GTO. They took the new GTO, the new Mustang, the new Infiniti G35 and a BMW 3 series and tested all four in different areas. Braking, handling, 1/4 mile etc. I don't think I laugh so much watcing a commentary and how badly they represented the Mustang GT with wrong numbers and facts. All these cars were automatics! 1/4 time for the Mustang GT was 14.5???????? and the GTO came in at 13.9???? I laughed. I was under the assumption that most automatics were coming into the 13's?? They said the GTO had better handling, better braking and all these other things and to pretty much sum it up, GTO was on top of everything. I ran 13.6 stock with a manual. Something does not seem right about this and it just made my night watching that whole thing. Kept thinking to myself its one of those things that Pontiac payed Speed to do something like that to make a sell on the GTO's or something, but the numbers on everything with the Mustang were just wrong!! :notnice:

I did not see that show, but last year Speed had on a special about the SEMA show that was sponsered by Pontiac. The 05 Mustang was the most featured car at SEMA, but their coverage showed about 10 seconds of Mustang footage. That is just plain

 

I'm with you. I thought it was a paid advert for Pontiac. The GTO is no slouch but the times were screwy all around. Someone had a lazy finger on the stopwatch.

 

I saw the show. In my opinion, it was just an advertisement for Pontiac.
I just about fell over when the Mustang had 6.1 0-60 and a 14.23 quarter mile. I thought a 400 horse GTO running 13.9 was extremely funny.

 

They must have been using one of those V6 GTs or something

 

Be careful, don't want to get the v6 guys mad.

 

Well with the times they ran it sounds like V6 There's a stripped down V6 around here running 14.0 in the 1/4... :drive:
