This is very interesting. I'm curious as to why Ford/Autolite made it the way they did.

This mod (should ?) result in better flame travel and combustion. I sent an E-mail to Sutton HP asking their thoughts on this mod. I'll post back their thoughts, and if they think it's worth a gain I'll do the mod and post results.
Used to work on the old muscle car motors we used to build...we would always index plugs!

There is no replacement spark plug for the 3V yet!
