SOS GUAGE POD QUESTION? Can you answer me quick?

Hello Guys....I just got my SOS dual Guage pod today...I bought them from a member on here...I did not realize the pods were rivet on? is this the case on all of them? I thought it was a complete solid unit? I mean I got the entire pillar but the pods are rivet to it? with little cuts in the pillar then the pod attaches.....is this correct? Thanks Rob......

Anyway to test a fuel pressure guage or boost for accuracy? with out installing it first?

I am not talking about the pillar itself....I see how it goes on...just like the stock one...but the PODS themselves....are the rivet from behind to the pillar?

Rob that's correct my Autometer 3 gauge unit is plastic rivited to the existing pillar. These rivets aren't meant to be removed once pressed it. They can be removed but they lose their grip, plus you might damage the finish on your pod so don't risk it. Some advice would be to run you wires, lines with plenty of slack so they you can access each gauge without having to pull the who thing down. I know some installers like it "tight" but it will be a pain in the Azz if you ever change bulbs and the like. Trust me leave slack! The instructions form Autometer suck not a whole lot of detail and pictures. I found this link on a pod install, it's not a stang but you get the idea. Good luck! (PM me if you have any questions).

Thanks...All is well....I will be installing this weekend.

I popped the pod back into the rivet....it must have gotten knocked lose during shipping...All is well...you can't see it now. Before the bottom pod was hanging crooked. and you could see the wholes and such....Thanks Rob

Glad to see you got it worked out.

With a problem like this, you would have found an answer much faster had you simply contacted the manufacturer. I hear they're OK guys.

Just ordered my SOS 3-pod A-pillar in charcoal.
Anybody got a picture of the problem being described in this thread?
Just curious for more info. Thanks

Mine did, couldnt be happier with the fit and finish. matches the car interrior perfect.

Riviting on was not a option for me, it would have to look like it was made that way. NO RIVITS

I have the Triple Dash pods from SOS and the Cups (Pods) are riveted to the base. When talking with SOS they said this was do to the harsh temperatures it will see. Alaska to Arizona the temps could range from -40 to nearly 200 degrees inside the car so glues might not hold up to the temps over time plus the vibration it has to withstand over its life rivets are the best way...
