Just take it easy. Giver yourself plenty of distance to stop, if you're getting a manual it might help to start in second gear. Most of all, just be cautious. Good luck! I know I'll be driving home from work tonight with a few inches of snow on the ground.

Leave the traction control ON, and do as above. You should do just fine.

After 13 years with an 87 GT and a 95 GT, I can say that the '05 is *much* improved in the snow. The '87 was pretty much impossible. Without snow tires, if you stopped while going up a hill, it was all over.

The '95 was marginally better, at least during braking, since it had ABS (optionally). But still the same traction issues going up hills. I used to put 3 or 4 60-lb sand bag tubes (from Home Depot $3 each) in the trunk, and traction was good enough to get me home.

Yesterday was the first time I've driven my '05 in snow, and even though it was only an inch, I was able to stop on my inclined driveway, and still make it up. The '87 or '95 could not do that, even with sandbags in the trunk. The Traction Control and better front/rear balance make a huge difference.

hate to say "Do a Search" but on this one I am going to only because there are soooooo many topics I can't list them all. If you do a search on winter driving you will find several topics on "advice, tires, how to, etc.. etc.. etc.."

As some have already said, take your time and leave the TC on. The stock tires are not the greatest in the snow so don't try to drive the car as if you are on dry pavement and you should be fine.

As another new GT owner who will soon have to drive in the snow, I'm going to throw in my .02...

For what you paid for the car, you'd best just go spend the money to get snow tires and put the odds in your favor. Now that I've been "testing" my speed and response ranges, I know that it would be REALLY easy to spin the stocks in bad weather. Frankly, I left mine at home and drove my old RWD supra to work (with summer tires) because it would cost me less if something happened. And before I get sniped, I do have snow tires, and an extra set of rims, but I couldn't get to the shop to put them on before it nowed.

BTW, Kevin's car cover is AWESOME, kept my new car looking new during this 1st snow storm. now if I can just get away from stupid slow drivers....
