Snoopy got some 15" drag wheels and skinnies for the track.

I just finished the drilling out of axles and hubs and installed my drag wheels and tires last night and this morning. It was more work than I thought it would be and I ran up to the local tool outlet and hooked myself up with some air tools after it took me 2 1/2 hours to pull 2 studs through with a breaker bar. I used a stack of 1/2" grade 8 washers to ensure the studs pulled in straight and the wheels went on like magic. The hardset part was finding the proper sized drill bits for the install! LOL. Sears/Home Depot doesn't stock 37 and 39/64ths bits! I found them at the local Grainger warehouse. Anyway, for an investment of less than $1000 I'm rolling on 15in. Drag radials and skinnies. I think the car looks awesome as well. I don't want to put the street tires back on but oh well!! Can't wait to get back to the track and actually drive through the water box instead of around it! That'll be cool. I firmly believe if I can catch a night with some mine shaft air I should be able to run the roll cage number. We'll see soon enough.

Stock fanblades/street tires with 3" studs installed for drag wheels. They don't look too bad. Kinda trick lookin.

Thanks again for all your help on this project Don. I didn't have a chance to put a front back on and get a picture Sunday as I was busy getting the Bo' Weevil top fuel car ready to fire. She fired like a champ as well!! As you may know I'm working/staying 200 miles from my home right now. This weekend we're taking the Bo' Weevil cars to Bowling Green for the Nostalgia Drags. When I get back next Thursday night I'll mount one up and get the pic for you. They still stick out a little as I ran through some hose water behind the shop and it was all over the outside of the front fender/quarter panel.

I'm guessing the skinnies are thin enough that brake clearance isn't an issue with the front brakes... am I correct?

I'm looking forward to seeing your newest timeslip.

Not quite... you need 11/16" spacers and 3" long wheels studs to clear the calipers.

Like Don said it took a little sweat and Don's ingenuity to make them work. I too am looking forward to seeing if the lightweight wheels and skinnies are worth the .2 sec deduction that everyone says they are. Getting really close to the 11.49 rollbar number I'd imagine. I'd love to have a street car that'll run consistent 11.50's but I'm not sure if I want to put a cage in this car just yet.
