SLP “LoudMouths” revisited
#21
I just heard SLPs for the first time (in person) today. The sound clips posted on the internet do not convey just how loud they are, they are obnoxious. The trumpeting it horrible too! I'm a big fan of loud, but SLPs are not what I would consider a "good" loud sound.

Someone help me out. WTF is "trumpeting"?
I have SLP LM's and like them.
Had the Corsa's and liked them, but a little on the "too quiet" side. Take the Corsa sound and turn up the volume and you'd have the PERFECT exhaust. But for now the LM's are great.

the trumpeting sound is like a BAP BAP BAP kinda noise that you get at part throttle in the mid rpms.... think old chevy gardners truck lugging second gear and its got a blown header gasket.... or the BAP BAP BAP of a cropduster.... i dunno, don is better at explaining it. lol

My SLP Powerflow set failed the same way the Loudmouths have done, the hole looks the same and it's obvious that the weld wasn't very good. Now I have a problem, the shop I bought them from is going to get only the failed section of the exhaust replaced, not the whole thing. I don't want those on my car anymore, I got the FRPP GTA's. I want my money back, it was only 4 months between purchase and failure. What should I do? I paid with a credit card so I could call and dispute the charge.

I've had my LM's on since June 05 and still no problems. I'm planning on get LT Headers soon and will probably change out the LM's. Not sure of what to go with that will have that deep muscle car sound.

I've got the Loudmouths on my '06, no problems with them at all. Unless of course you'd count every toothless redneck hillbilly from miles around revving and trying to race me with their 4x4 or diesel pickup trucks, no I'm not trying to race you. Or retarded KU fans mouthing off as they stagger drunk down the street.
An added benefit is you can drown out other driver's phone conversations while driving down the road. That alone almost makes the rest worth it. Some sound insulation would probably take care of the WOT sound increase as well as the road noise at highway speeds.
