I had them and they were ok. The muffler delete took away that deep muslce roar and made it sound kind of sloppy to me...I do not remember them droning though.. May I suggest the pypes mid muffler Perfect tone with minimal drone

EDIT- So your keeping the car Rich?!

Going to hang on to it as long as I can. I can't see giving someone a great car for under $23000, but that's just me.

If you run them with your stock, catted mid-pipe, they sound pretty good IMO but they're pretty loud too. There is no muffler to them, just tips.

They do not drone. However the tone is raspy and not deep. You get quite a bit of popping on decel. Sounds good and not too loud at idle and light cruise. Cop magnet loud at heavy trottle. Way too loud if you take off your cats.

I've had them on my car since early 2005. To me they sound perfect for the look of the car. They are fairly loud, I have stock exhaust with only the slp LM's. The sound isn't CRAZY loud but imagine an early 70's nova with glass packs and the sound is similar. I parked at my apartments when a dude in a corvette pulled up and asked if I'd fire it up for him so he could hear it, said it sounded freaking awesome. Depends on your taste, seems like younger guys think it sounds like a truck, older guys love it.

They drone, not bad and only in a very small rpm band while under load. Like ~2k rpm, If I'm climbing a hill in 5th and am in that range I just hit OD off (automatic) and it stops.

My only complaint is cold starts late at night. It's a little embarassing and I feel bad for my neighbors. Cold starts are pretty loud.

One last thing, first thing I noticed the day I put them on was the vibration under my feet. The floor board transmits alot more noise and vibration. These are not mellow and smooth like most of todays exhaust systems, they pretty much just let you enjoy unfiltered V8 rumble.

I'm not sure I've heard stingers before but I can almost garantee they are louder.
