SLP Loudmouth????
I have owned loudmouths since jan or feb 2005. I have periodically inspected them because a few people had problems with them. Mine are still perfect, my car is a daily driver. Guess it only takes one or two people to have problems to give a product a bad name, most of the people who claim they are trash do not own them or have never owned them.
The upside IMO is they have the best looking tips of any exhaust system I have yet to see on these cars, they sound incredible and they are far more affordable than any other axle back out there, except for the immitations which I'm sure are great except for the tips which is a big selling point to me.
The down side, they are loud on cold start up's. They do not meet most states noise level, I'm in California and have never been pulled over for them. My friend has been 3X or more because of his stereo and or his window tint haha.
Drone, they drone around 2200-2300 RPM when at part throttle under load. I only really experianced this when driving through a mountain pass and clicking OD off helped it because it would get into 5th climbing a moderate hill and would put it righ into the 22-2300rpm range.
One person claimed to lose some torque running them, it was within what I would call the range of error, + or - 7 tq. This could be true (you lose a miniscule amount of back pressure, if you keep your cats it could not possibly be an issue though) but it's not anything you would notice however I have also been told by a guy who ran them he lost .01 in the 8th running them as opposed to running stock mufflers. Again I feel thats within the range of error, unless you have an automatic your probably not going to run so consistant that you can judge a mod within a tenth.
Some complain they make the car sound like an old truck, thats because old trucks had V8's and alot of people put cherry bombs or other straight through exhaust on them. If you like the muscle car sound it's the cheapest way to get there. Otherwise you will need to get long tubes, x pipe and something like flow masters.
I have been 100% satisfied with my purchase choice and still get compliments on the sound. I have had ZERO issues with the quality, 4 years of running them and no pitting rusting or anything else. If the hangers were to fall off tomorrow, I'd order a new set.

They rock and the sound is unbeatable. I had the Stingers now for 3 years and that droning sound was really getting on my nerves. Right now, I have no droning sound with the LMs, just GREAT & pure muscle car sound! Thank you SLP!!!
i plan to go with magnaflows when i get my longtubes put on....i currently run slp lms.if you are looking to trade sometime around aug when i m home again,i d be more than happy to setup something with you.
I had SLP LMs on my 02 GT and never really liked them till I added the SLP X-Pipe, then I loved them. Although when the engine was cold they did sound like crap. I attribute this to ignition timing being set to light the cats off faster, with the SLPs you can sit outside the car and detect a change in timing when the car getsa up to operating temp.
