Slightly better than Stock brakes?
I think I will be replacing my brakes here soon, and was thinking of getting some better ones. Nothing that will break the bank, but something just a little better than stock. Any ideas? Would love Brembo, but they're a little more than I want to spend.
I've been out of the modding loop for a little while. I've been pretty content with my these past few years, so I haven't been doing any research lately. But think I need to do something sooner than later.
Are there any brake shops that sell better than stock brakes at a good price? Or could I order online, and have a place install them for me?
Just wondering what brand(s) I should look at. Also, I have the stock wheels on. 17in I believe.

Are you dead-set on getting new calipers? Because, if so, any route you take is going to be pretty expensive.
you could get some upgraded rotors and pads for the stock calipers. Brenspeed has a few kits that are decently priced that include new pads, rotors, brake fluid, and stainless lines.

Do you have 18" wheels?
If so, you could go with a 2011+ rotors & mounting bracket. They have a larger rotor, but use the same calipers as the 05-10 GTs. With the 2011+ mounting bracket it moves the calipers further out, allowing larger rotors (more leverage). It's a simple bolt on that gives you better braking performance. Combine that with better pads frt/rear and you should be set.
I was going to go this route, until I bit the bullet and went with a Brembo kit. Wish I'd of just went that route now and saved the $$$ & hassles.
I also recommend SS lines. Great upgrade for better braking feel.

I agree with the 2011 upgrade. All you need are brackets and the rotors and pads from a 2011 GT.
Here is a topic that talks about it:

Probably the cheapest route to go would be
Street/Race pads (EBC or Hawk) with stock caliber $100 per axle
Change brake fluid to dot 4 $20 (Tire rack has some for $15 and its blue)
Replace rubber brake lines with SS lines alittle over a $100
Replace rotors $175 ~ $250 Fronts only
Pick and choose wisely cuz if you want to go fast you have to stop it sometime.

Upgrading to the 2011 larger rotor with new caliper bracket would also be nice. I'll probably do this myself when my current batch of front rotors are done. I've got a set of slotted rotors I use for the street (with Hawk HPs) and two sets of stock rotors for the track (just 'cause they were cheap! via New Take Off) with Hawk Blue pads.
