Slight belt squeel on startup with UDPs
I was just reading this little article on the GT-H on detnews:
http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...0437/1148/rss25
noticed this line from Mark Fields:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'>Ford Americas President Mark Fields said the program is part of an effort to ramp up Ford's performance offerings as part of its North American turnaround plan. Fields said Ford will have one performance pickup and one performance Mustang in its lineup at all times from now on and expects to sell between 5,000 and 10,000 of each annually. Ford's Special Vehicle Team developed the 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500, but it has been unclear in what direction the unit would head next.
"Performance vehicles make stronger brands," Fields said.[/b][/quote]
interesting to hear that so soon after canning the adrenaline. You'd have thought if this is the attitude he had all along that they wouldn't have axed something that was already kinda developed, or at least had a concept version running around.
Maybe they figure that a high pefromance F-150 will attract more sales... Like, as a halo car, it would increase F-150 sales more than the Adrenaline would affect Sport Track sales.

Had my mechanic install my GMS UDP's and I'm getting a slight 2-3 second belt squeel on startup when it's cold and has been sitting overnight. This only happens if the car has been sitting for 12ish hours and is completely cold.
After the initial warming for the day, no matter how many times I start it -- no more belt squeel.
Anyone have an explanation? I would tighten the belt, but it's self torsioning so...whats the problem?
Thanks guys.

not sure, mine squeeled, but remember the paint on the new steeda's was nto roughted up yet. also, I did not replace the bolt the first time, and it also rubbed. It quite soon after, but I replaced the alternator bolt and no clearance problems.

What does this post have to do with the topic? did I miss something?
I installed my UDP, never heard the belt squeel once, warm or cold

maybe you need a smaller belt or something. usually squealing means loose, once it heats up from squealing it will stop because of friction etc. So probably just a loose belt. I know i have seen some topics on changing the belt size etc. Good luck

It looks like someone merged two threads or moved a post, and it ended up at the top of this thread(chronologically). Post #2 is actually the threadstarter.
Go figure...
