I had the TCS and ABS indicators illuminate on the dash this morning :bang: I want to t ake the car to the dealer to get it checked out. I have the JLT CAI and tune. Should I change everything back to stock before I take it in?

BTW....I have already pulled the terminal to reset computer, and the lights came back on after driving for about 20mins.

It should not be a problem unless you have some serious jerks working at your local dealership, good luck.

Well I was just talking about mods with dealer service mgr. and he said flashing computer would void warranty, so I do believe its going to vary dealer to dealer, and if they can actually see if computer has been modded with a new flash, and returned to stock etc.

I have the JLT CAI and tune and my dealer didn't seem to care about it when they checked the CEL I keep getting. They mentioned that they thought the CAI was rattling around and that I should try and secure it better but they had no problems with it or the tune.

Those two systems are related and I wonder if you could have a bad wheel sensor trigger or something....did you do anything to the wheels recently?

I would put it back to stock for the simple reason that if there is a new version of software for your ECU they are required to flash it. then someone may run or drive your car without the proper tune. (too lean with the JLT) just my opinion.

Jerry, swing by and I'll swap it out if you want. I'd like to see it anyhow.
It may have something to do with that last reason it was in the shop...

Let me know

Well, the swap should not be necessary. The dealer can tell that you have tuned, then swapped back. So that would be a waste of effort.

Plus, the CAI should not effect the ABS. So therefore, it can't void the warranty. The whole warranty can't be voided with bolt ons, however, a warranty claim can be voided if it pertains to the modification done.

No, I have not done anything to the wheels, and yes indeed those two systems are related.

I will give you a call in a little bit. I was wanting you to see the car anyway. Thanks for your help!

I know my indicators don't have anything to do with my mods, but dealers can be touchy. I have yet to see proof that a dealer can tell your computer has been flashed, and what it has been flashed by, etc...It will be an interesting test, to set it all back to stock and see if they say anything...

Thanks for all the input.

Another approach is to leave it as-is and see if they say anything, then you'll know for sure!

Hmm, I wonder if I sould reload the JLT premium tune when I get mine back today. Just in case they think "This car has the old program. . . I should load the new one".
