LMAO...

ditto...

I just bust out laughing when I read that.

The answer: yes.

you are subject to fines with LT's and you can (federally) with shortys as well. There are CA State legal shorty headers (CARB), like the JBA's. But technically, they are still illegal federally.

regular price $399. I had a oneline coupon and also the TMS discount.

I don't dare say exactly how much it was, for fear of posting "misinformation"...but after tax and shipping I think it was $340-350.

Thanks, didn't even see them on there when I looked yesterday.

So...

A few guys have gotten 13 - 15 hp out of the JBA, and JBA says they've gotten 10-15 out of several cars.

Looking forward to surfnsocal's Saturday dyno results.

Also, looks like $399 is the best price for the JBA shorties before TMS discount at RPM outlet.

How long does it take to swap these out? Anybody with instructions? Hints? Tools needed?

thanks for the info Don! :headbang:

That means that I can go catless for 6 years. The car will be either sold or totaled by then.

couple of points-

1. Check out Rrobello's post. He got somewhere between 10-15rwhp. But I will post mine up on saturday.

2. I had myself and 5 other guys (3 of them just stood arround) help me to the header swap. We started at 9am, took an hour to get the car up on jacks and the exhaust pipes disconnected. We had the new headers installed by 2pm, and that was with breaking for lunch and a couple of bonehead mistakes.

3. I had fun doing the install, even though it was a PITA.

4. The TMS discount was like 10-15% I think.

There was a Shory header test in one of the magazines a while back. Didn't add too much power.

I personally don't think that Shorties will provide enough power to justify the cost/time to install. Ford did a good job engineering the exhaust. The cats are the restriction in the OEM exhaust. The OEM manifolds look like they flow fairly well.

How does one get this discount? They have the exhaust I want with free shipping...15% off would kick butt!

Any one have any info on BBK or Mac shorties. They are approx the same price as the JBA but, they aree ceramic coated. JBA really likes their ceramic coating almost 300.00 bucks additional. RPM is claiming up to 17HP on the BBK's.
