Question Short belt length with UDP's?

As the title reads does anyone know the belt length for bypassing the power steering pump if you have Steeda UDP's? Also is there anything else that can be bypassed such as a smog pump like the older cars???

Looking for some added tricks for the strip.

Thanks,

David

99" belt will do the trick. Dayco Polycog 5060995 is the number I'm using.

David,
Hold on there. Drew gave you the correct length belt for running the Steeda pullies and a Meziere electric pump but not for bypassing other items. I assume you will only use this setup at the track. I don't know the answer to your question but I know 99 inch is not correct.

For the track just get a electric water pump and leave the belt off. I think the guy who sells the aluminum spydershaft runs that way at the drags.

DLY, I plan on getting the elec pump soon. But in the mean time I was hoping to just bypass some items to see if I could pick up a little more at the drag strip.

Scott, thanks for pointing that out about the meziere pump. It looks like I will just have to get down and measure it I guess. I would have thought that someone might be using this trick too. I guess not?

not many hardcore racers left on TMS, they have all gone to other forums

I read of one guy that tried it, he said it was scary because you lose a lot of steering control. In the event of losing control of the car YOU WILL hit the wall

Ron has been doing that for a while now.

Boy Drew it must be a real bad day for you. The thread link you posted is this one! LOL I saw some of the posts by spyder on the other thread about lowering 1/4 mile time a couple of tenths. I figure to just measure the thing this week some time. When I figure out the size I will be sure to post it.

It's an 85" belt. He said he dropped a couple of tenths. I'm not sure what the part number is though.

I just got an 87" Belt from Advance Auto and tried it; it fits perfect. I have the Steeda under drive pullies. Part number is 870KA.
The tensioner is right in the center of its tabbed stops.

Funny I used an 88" belt and it worked too. I guess the tensioner will take up the slack from 87-88". So to answer my own question 87-88" is the ticket!
