i would do it with you for free if you were near nebraska....

its really pretty simple

 

Just throw the car up on ramps and squeeze under there. If you can read and turn a wrench, you can do the install!

uh uh, there is no way I am taking this car apart. I broke a shorty antenna trying to screw it in.

 

General mechanic labor is about $60.00 an hour here in my little town... anyone with a shop should be able to do it in 2 hours and do a good job.

Are you a member of a Mustang club in your area... maybe someone in the club would help you. It really isn't that difficult to do.

I guarantee you won't be sorry you chose the MGW..

How did you do the mods that you have on the car?

The MGW shifter isn't that hard. A little time consuming maybe, but about a "4" on a scale of 1 to 10.

All you do is print out Taco Bill's EXCELLENT instructions and follow them! The pix are great and Bill's narrative is easy to follow. Trust me, you CAN do this!!!

The only thing I did myslef were the axel-backs. I had a shop do the nav and stripes.

 

Is it the general consensus here that MGW is better than Steeda Tri-Ax?

 

I had planned to have my mechanic install my MGW. I even booked time in his shop. Brought along Tacobill's write up that I printed off at work.
When I got there he asked me to get started and give him a call when I needed a hand.
I have never worked on mustangs before but I did the complete install myself using his lift and tools.
He didn't charge me a penny either but I made sure to get him a case of beer to thank him.
I must say, the install was quite easy and it was a good feeling to do the work myself.

 

Do it yourself, my tri-ax was easy!

 

never underestimate good instructions. and the ability to ask for help
give it a try and see if you want to take it to a shop.

 

Now see, that's what having Mustang buddies is all about I can't count the number of hours I've spent under someone else's Mustang, knuckles bruised and/or bloodied (oil and blood do mix), dirt in the eyes & hair, sweat stinging my eyes, etc. But it's all worth it, believe me.

 

Not just "yes" - but "hell yes".

 

Price for install in Cincinnati? One large hot fudge sundae.

 

If I try and fail, I won't be able to take it to a shop.

 

What if you try and succeed?

Seriously, take a look at all the hand tools used for the job and make sure you have them.

To test your mechanical ability, take apart the center console down to the shifter. If you did it without braking anything, congratulations! All you have left are 6 fasteners under the car and 4 cap screws to tighten on the shifter handle bracket and you're done.
