Has anyone installed a Hurst Competion Plus shifter on a 05/06 Mustang GT 5 speed. I'm planing on doing it this spring (little too cold now) & I'm wondering if there are any problems with the installation.
Thanks. :nono:

Several threads on this already, but the short version would be:

Ramps or lifts.

Have a 10mm deep well socket with extension at your disposal. A 10mm and 13 mm wrench are equally desireable for some other bits.

Invert shifter about 150 degrees clockwise to clear the tunnel hole when inserting it (this will become clear when the moment comes).

A second person is useful, but not absolutely necessary for handing the shifter down through the hole...I did it myself and suspended it with bungee cord and tape.

It may have just been me, but I could not do it on ramps (Rhino). Not enough clearance. I am having mine installed by a shop next week. Only 70-100 bucks.....well worth it IMO

Thanks much. Got the tools; all I need now is for the temperature to go up 50 degrees.

That's strange...I used Rhino ramps satisfactorily, though the lift is only "just enough". This was important to me because the 17 degree approach angle meant I didn't have to make a "pre-ramp" so as not to interfere with the front valence...it cleared just fine. I'm not saying I could do calisthenics under there, but the room was adequate (I'm average height/weight or slightly above that). I did in in my garage on a flat surface.
