Two tunes that Doug gave me to test out still didn't turn on the shift light. One he told it to turn on at 5750 and the other at 3000 RPM. Neither turned on the light.

Does anyone have the Installation & Removal guide on the guage cluster? I think the Saleen guage cluster has a spot for a shift light [looking at pics] so the stock guage cluster might if we can see the back of it.

Doug says the rest of the stuff related to the shift_light tune in the GT calibration is the same in the GT500 except for the scalar... which means we don't have an LED or it isn't physically activated/connected to whatever control board or power source is available.

I shift by ear.
.
The times when you would use a shift light, I don't think you should be looking at the dash anyway.

"mad skills" uh yeah right. Driving that fast in heavy traffic and operating a video camera. I think the words "natural selection" would be more accurate.
This shift light thing is interesting however having it in the center of the tach makes is kinda useless even if it did work.
The whole purpose of a shift light as a performance oriented driver knows it is so that it tells the driver when to shift in such a way that he / she doesn't have to take thier eyes off the road. With this light you still have to be looking at the tach so what's the point?
I created my own solution by mounting a single high intensity red LED in my pillar mounted gauge pod. Then I built the electronics to drive it and mounted it inside the center glove box. It's completely adjustable and I can shift without taking my eyes off the road.
