SCT Xcalibrator II
I bought a used SCT II recently and they forgot to reset it back so I can use it on my car.
Is there a way I can get it reset myself???
AND if so, how? Do I contact SCT????

I would send/take it back to whom you bought it from and have them load the stock tune back into the car if possible. This will unlock it.
Otherwise it has to go to SCT to be reset and there is a cost associated with it.
Check out SCT website/forums www.sctflash.com, they have a forum there and I believe you will find the answers.
Good luck

302SVT, this came up yesterday and TacoBill came to the rescue.. see this thread. Sound like you can unlock it with LiveLoad.

I know TacoBill said you can, but you cannot. Even though the "unlock device" button looks like it would work, it does not if the device has not been returned to stock. The ONLY way to make it work is to send it to SCT and pay a large fee, I believe it is around $150.

I checked with Bamachips and they said it would cost somewhere around 200.00 to reset it. I also checked with SCT with the same result. Better off to just buy a new one and CAI from them.

I wish their was a way because I can buy one for 100.00 off of someone I know. Here is a link to the SCT site that tells about it they also say about 150.00 on it.

What does it say when you plug it in. I'm no expert but i got mine on ebay whit a steeda cold air kit. it was used and when i pluged it in to my car it kep stating wrong car. Taco bill sent me a link to unlock it and it worked. but i think mine was brought back to stock since he took off the intake and sold the car. Anyway good luck

If the person you purchased the X-CAL from did not return his vehicle back to the stock program first ? you cannot unlock the device yourself using the live load software until the stock program is downloaded back into the vehicle's computer from the programmer and unfortunately you'll have to end up shipping the programmer back to SCT who will then ship it back to you once their able to unlock it for a $75.00 - $150.00 fee

kryptonite: i believe you should be able to unlock it without the original car, and without the dealer's help AS LONG AS you still have changes remaining on the device, using LiveLoad 3
new SCT X-Cal's have i think 5 changes allowed, meaning you can reset it and change cars 5 times before it locks.
Once you've exhausted the 5 changes, is when you'll need an SCT dealer to help you out
