SCT Xcal II Question?
I asked this on another board and I am getting conflicting answer. What do you guys say?
I have an SCT II and have 3 tunes on it. I am going to put the stock air box back on and load the OEM tune. After the stock tune is loaded is my tuner locked or unlocked? I will be trying to sell it and was wondering if there was something that I needed to do prior to the buyer using it? I know that if they have a different calibration code (and they problaby will) they can't use my tunes for their car.
Thanks ~

When I was using a Predator if you put the OEM tune back in , it unlocked the tuner from your vehicle. Once I went to the SCT I assumed it was the same , but there was thread on here where someone said you had to use the software on a computer to unlock it from your vehicle. I' not sure , you might do a search and see if you can find the thread ...
Rich, after you load back your factory tune, the 'Unlock Device' option in Live Load should be selectable. You'll need to select this option to free it from your car.
But before selecting this option, make sure the factory tune loaded successfully by starting and driving it.

Hey Rich...It will be unlocked as soon as you load the factory tune. No need to erase the loaded tunes...as long as you sell it to someone with the same CPU code!! If the person you sell the tuner to does not have the same code as your car than they will have to buy new tunes that are compatible with their car!!
Scott
In addition to what Scott said, besides matching the strategy code, the trans type and all mods that you have that the tune was written for MUST be alike.. or else.
Well The code is CDC3 and I will be selling the tuner with the JLT so if someone has that with a manual trans they will get 3 tunes which one includes delete plates. Shameless for sale plug. I might even make it a deal where they can have the delete plates too.
