sct tune
#1
It looks like these guys already have a tune available for the new 05....on their forum a customer said he gained 23 hp just from the tune alone
Does anyone know what a local SCT dealer will charge for the program upload?? Here is a link to their site discussing the stang.....

2005RedGT,
Could you post your actual before and after dyno printouts? I am interested in the overall shape of the curve as well as peak. Also was your 23 hp gain at peak hp or was it the max gain at some specific rpm? Thanks,
The Boss Hog

Sorry I did not get a printout of the before hand. the 255 HP (+23 was not peak either. Peak was 265RWHP. Sinxe Peak doesnt mean crap, I just had them printout the 255HP chart.

If you want to read about the 4.10 gears and the SCT Excalibrator experience as well as the dyno info, I have it all documented here (see page 4 for the Dyno/Tune). If you cannot find your answers there, just PM me.

Great job Bryan, your car rocks.
Any 0-60 or 1/4 mile times?
Can you still burn regular fuel or must you use premium?
How does the car handle, brake & ride with the tire & spring upgrades?
Thx

Pricing:
$360 for the Xcalibrator
$0 for the time to tune from Andre
$100 to Horsepower Enginnering for the Dyno.
Feel:
4.10 made a huge difference in off the line, and in town driving. The real difference was the tune, much more responsive, higher / harder shift. Mo Betta.
Gas:
Yes, I do have to switch back to 93 octane gas, but that is by choice. They have 2 tunes for the SCT, one for regular and one for premium gas.
Ride:
As far as the ride, when I put the tires on the back, it stinked. But once I lowered it in the front and the abck - it was 100% perfect. I take 90 right turns at 45-50 MPH easy, and some others in my area at 75 MPH with-out any roll or push.
No 1/4 miles times yet. I want my other mods first and some better tunes. I will try to go to Houston Raceway Park this Dec. 17th to test - but that is a big maybe![Smile](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thaks for the Q/A , I will update my page with this info too.

Bryan
On your home page you show 65mph @ 2000 & 80mph & 2500.
I have the same car stock & at 65mph I am turning 1900 & 80 @ 2400.
My question to you is did the SCT tune offer a speedo adjustment & did you do it?
I know you have a larger diameter tire, but with 4:10 replacing 3:31, I would think your rpm would be a lot higher. Could your speedo be off? You may want to have another car pace you to double check it.
Thx

The speedo was adjsuted dring tune, and I verify with my GPS while driving. Yes, the 4.10 gears are slighty offset by the tire size - but the RPS and MPH are on the money
I am just as suprised as you. The tire/4.10 combo works well. If I had stocks I would not be the same.
GPS is a Garmin iQue
It could be off in MPH, but if it is, it is not by much.
ALso, I must have mad a typo. The 65MPH shold be at 2200 RPM. I will fix that.

I think maybe your computer recal is still off. With stock tires, @ 65 mph, you should be turning right at 2400 rpm. It would take some mighty tall tires to drop it down to 2200 rpm. Also, if you are doing 2200 rpm at 65 mph, then you must be doing 2707 rpm at 80 mph, not 2500 rpm.
(80/65) x 2200 = 2707 . . . .

Hey everyone! Bryan and i will be getting both of our '05's tuned on the 18th now, as the 11th date got cancelled. It'll be my first tune with SCT, and my first dyno session on the car period. I already have the 4.10 rear end installed and also a Bassani x-pipe and muffler set up. By the time the 18th rolls around I will have the intake on from MMR and the steeda pulley set as well. It'll be interesting to see the difference between the 2 cars on the dyno. We have different exhaust setups and his is lowered and has larger tired, but otherwise pretty much identical upgrades across the board. Sounds like he'll go first nd i'll just be getting an identical flash, the only change made to reflect my 17" factory rim and tire setup. Hope to be able to get on and show a nice total rwhp gain with the large # of mods in just the first 6 weeks of ownership. Check out my Car Domain page under swingle007 if you uiys are interested. Car got a nice plaque at the Autorama this past weekend when it was displayed with a number of other Mustang Club of Houston vehicles....
