SCT Livewire...what do you guys think?
Well I'm getting an intake soon...and I was going to go with the Xcal2, but someone local has a Livewire for 400...what do you guys think? Worth the extra money or no?

Well it has some extra features like 1/4 and 1/8 mile timer, etc...
If you can get it for $400, go for it. If you'd have to pay the reg price, I'd say rather not. I bought the Xcal2 and also have the Predator.
In the end, it's all depending what you want to do with the device...

I think it is overvalued. When I asked several SCT dealers/tuners about the differences between X-Cal 2, X-Cal 3, and Livewire, they came up with nothing. Many of them never even used the X-Cal 3 or Livewire but were selling them.
I recommend sticking with the plain jane X-Cal 2.

I prefer the X3, it is much faster than the X-Cal2. That was a big plus for me, you can also datalog on screen with it although its much better to have a laptop.

How much faster is the X-Cal 3? The X-Cal 2 only requires 60 seconds to flash a PCM. It's hardly as bad as the 5 minutes with the 9100 flasher!

Its quite a bit faster, I have not actually sat their and timed it but it is quicker. It can also upload a tune from the computer to the actual device a lot quicker, although that would not benefit you unless you were doing your own tuning with a Pro Racer Package.

It takes about 30 seconds to write to the X-cal 2 with the PRP, and takes about 60 seconds to flash the PCM. It'd be interesting to see how much faster the X-Cal 3 operates!
