SCT Livewire programmer. Know anything about it?

I got the December issue of 5.0 Magazine in the mail today and saw this! There is no mention of it on their web page. Anyone got the scoop on this? Price?

I also notice that the domain name shown in the pic www.sctlivewire.com is being parked on godaddy.com so perhaps SCT didn't expect the magazine to be published so far ahead of December.

Yeah, seems like this in the next generation of tuners...Hypertech is advertising something similar called the HyperPAC on Spike Powerblock here and there. They are not cheap though - they go for around $600-$800. Maybe the tuners here will give a pretty good discount. Even at that price, I forsee a lot of used SCTII tuners hitting the market soon... This way to data log sounds a lot better than having to use a laptop and the buggy software they have now.

600 isn't a bad deal if you take into account what a wideband A/F gauge costs

I was just about to buy the new Innovate wideband with the 3/4" thick dash mount gauge but I may have to go this route. Looks promising!

I posted this on the SCT forums and they said they will be showcasing the product at the upcoming SEMA show and then the information will flow like wine.

Boy am I glad I found this thread!

I was preparred to purchase the standard SCT tuner once my Mustang arrived but I like this Livewire much better. If it will do the same kind of programming as the SCT II tuners well as provide real-time data deisplay then I'm gonna buy one!

Now I just have to decide if I want to go to SEMA this year. If so, I will stop by the SCT booth to check it out.

I'm sticking with the Pro Racer Package. These tuners are a waste of money and time.

Looks like the same type of set up that Edge sells for the trucks, it's supposed to be the stuff for the 04 and up F150's. The programer mounts on the left side of the dash and stays hooked up to the port, you can monitor everything the computer reads.

Hey Dude what was your best time this year? If you posted it I missed it. I am sure you beat my 3.4 as I can't seem to hook up even with the DRs and the 60' suck.

It does not come with wideband O2 capabilities. It simply has a port for a wideband O2. Essentially, it looks like the Livewire is nothing more than a simplified and portable LiveLink / X-Cal 2 combo. Definitely NOT worth the $600 unless you're into flashy LCD screens and LEDs. Get the Pro Racer Package for $800 and do your own tuning and adjustments.

Hey guys,

This is the newest component available from SCT soon, the official release date is Sema and from there they'll tell us when they plan on shipping them.

I wish they wouldn't show that picture with the A/F up there because that is nothing but a misleading photo as it will take input from a wideband it is not a wideband nor will it read the a/f from your car from the dataport. It cannot because the only information from the dataport is that from the narrow band factory 02 sensors.

The price, hehehehe, I know you wish you knew but I'll say this much, all of you are WAY high. This isn't a $700 Hyperpac but it will accept custom tunes UNLIKE the $350 Edge. The X-calibrator will still be sold and still be at the same price. It will also be updated from what SCT tells us. Yes, the LiveWire will be more then the X-calibrator but it will also have more features and more memory.

As for the PRP, yes its nice and for only $699, $299 plus the price of a X-calibrator, IF you know what you are doing is a good choice. BUT, I dont advertise the PRP's because I dont sell them unless you can fill out a questionaire that I've created. It gives the end user full controll over the PCM, except for Drive by wire features on the new 05-07's, and this much adjustability in the hands of unskilled users can blow stuff up.

Stay tuned!!

doug,
do you have any idea of when the product will be released? wil you sell it? would you recomend someone to wait to buy it over an x-cal.

i was planning on purchasing an x-cal after christmas, if the price difference between the x-cal and the livewire is reasonable. i will wait. i would not mind being the first to buy one off you if the price is right.
