Saleen Supercharger vs. hood clearance

Will a Saleen Supercharger fit under a stock hood or do you need to get different motor mounts??

Hey Darrell, you need to lower the motor in order for the hood to fit over the supercharger. Check out Hi Roller's car on here. he has the Prothane motor mounts. JDM did his install and they installed them when they put the blower on.

I do have the prothane motor mounts. It lowers the engine about 3/4 of an inch. I've seen people fit the blower without changing the mounts, but there is usually some rubbing or they have to take out the hood liner. I know there is some adjusment with the blower itself, but not much. I would add the mounts anyway.......

I agree... you only need to beef up the motor mounts when you have lots of torque.

Hey Tom

Remember posting on this thread?????
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=68849

Wishing for a KB instead of a centri?????

I think I got a good deal brand new Saleen kit shipped and with the 2007 upgrade kit for 4700. I almost brought a new Paxton SL kit and the guy was going to finace me 0% if I payed it off in a year but they added 930 bucks of fees to the paper work, so I just dipped in my petty cash and brought the Saleen.

Congrats on the Saleen! And no I wasn't interested in the KB kit, I was only commenting about the price because it was a great deal. You have an idea of what I paid to get blown, its by far less than that even.

I guess you plan to install over the winter, or are you going to do it now so you can drive it before fall??

This depends on what intake you will be using. Using the C&L Racer intake, you will have to lower the motor. Using the Saleen extreme intake, you do not have to lower the motor. I have the series vi and the extreme intake and everything fits fine, no rubbing. Edit, I'd assume the stock intake would fit with no problem also.

That can be adjusted. When you mount the blower, you can adjust how far forward/back the blower sits........although now that you mention it.......I think I remember someone having to "massage" the firewall to make it fit.......oh well... just get the new mounts.....whats another $100?
