Strong Wife

You must have a strong wife! It took me and two other men to lift the blower into the engine valley. I was in the front and a guy on each side as we lifted it in. My two mustang groupies in my avatar picture would not have been strong enough. Your wife is stronger than me, my friends and my groupies! I do love the saleen blower though you are right it is amazing.

My trans was "allegedly" beefed up by Atr Carr of TX. But, they've done some really shoddy work over the past year, so I'm not confident that what I have is any better than stock. The first torque converter they supplied was made wrong, and it actually damaged the planetary gears in the trans. I had to have them repleced locally. And now, my replacement torque converter from them is messed up. It doesn't always lockup when it is supposed to. But, so far the trans has held up OK. I have about 7500 miles (and 230 track runs) on it. If you've seen my track vids, you know I beat on it pretty hard.

BTW, there are quite a few guys running deep into the 11s (and a couple into the 10s) on stock-gut 5R55S transmissions, using TCI or PI converters. I think the trans is proving to be stronger than most people expected.

She was looking that the blower sits where it supposed to sit... and keeping that short tube in valley not getting under it. I lifted it compeletely by myself in place... see my "install position", left foot in battery tray and right on bumper, ez!

What kind of tune update did you need? I'm about to put the Saleen on and am going with JDM.

Did you have any issues?

Congrats BTW

My tune probably has different rear ratio setting, revs/mile don't match. I'm getting rare DTC P061b, JDM is investigating this and updates me asap.

JDM is the only way to go! The tune is unbelievable smooth and I have no issues (except that DTC, which will be fixed hopefully today)!

Shoot PM if you have any questions.

Thx.

Pix

Here's some pics during install... Pic 4 is the '05-06 thermostat housing needed, since 2007 has the thermostat housing integrated in water cross over. So, JDM included all the hoses, therm housing, thermostat and gasket with my kit. Took some time to figure out how all the hoses and things will go. SO, if someone is about to do 2007 Saleen S/C install, I'll be happy to help you out with therm stuff.

Installing it was fun, but driving the beast is even better! Wish I had better grip with the tires...

I'll take more underhood pics outside someday...

Sorry to raise this from the dead Found it in a search, yey! I search! lol

Hey mvon919! How are you still liking the S/C ? I new here, but have been lurking for a couple of weeks Did you do anything as far as the motor mounts when you first put the S/C on? Or did you have the saleen hood then too?

I'm doing my research and hopeing to put one of these on my 07 this year As I read more posts, I'm getting more confident about doing it myself!
