RWHP? on stock internals

I'm sure this subject matter has been bridged before, but I have not been part of it yet. So...please hang with me on this....

I was at a local all Ford show on Sunday. I was in the Modified Mustangs Class (1971 - 2008). Well...anyway...a guy in a Black 2005 Mustang GT was parked in the slot next to me. He had an awesome looking car...shaker scoop and all. We started comparing notes and he had me totally blown away with what he had. He had a Vortec S/C with 14 psi boost, methanol injection and NOS. He said he was 600+ RWHP at the wheels compared to my 442 (I felt a little under powered...if you know what I mean) He had all of this on 4.6L stock internals.

I have heard all sorts of numbers thrown around as to how much you can push these stock engines. I've even had some people tell ME that I'm nuts for pushing 442 RWHP on stock internals. I think I'm safe with MY setup...but what about this guy?

Does anyone know how far is TOO far with these stock internals?

600 rwhp on stock internals will last about 30 seconds at WOT, in my opinion. As long as he stays off the throttle though, he can claim 600hp for a long time.

I think we can easily say: He has gone TOO far.

14 pounds probably gets him to 500 RWHP, and assuming his numbers include a 75 or 100 shot of nitrous, I'd say 600 RWHP sounds about right.

I saw his setup first hand...I believe him too. He had no dyno's to show as proof, but with a Vortec, Meth Injection and I think it was a 100 shot of NOS...600 RWHP sounds achievable. But will it last...and for how long? I've heard so many opinions. I only know what I have...but there is always someone who will take it to the limits. I've heard of guys with turbs getting to the 700 mark.
