Rich, that looks great. I never did like the stock rake of this car. I lowered my rear to level it out also... and very glad I did. I actually think it drives better now than stock.

Where are you guys ordering the rear springs from? I need to save some pennies, so I will just start with the rear first!

just curious if the stiffer rear springs messed with the balance of the car in the corners?

im in the process of installing the full frpp suspension kit so ill be useing matched spring rates front and rear.

my first thought always goes to cornering balance.
it is possible that you may have made the car loose in high speed corners.

i would suggest you find the cars limits in a controlled manner.
(a suprise spin could be a really bad thing)

Agreed. Stiffening the rear springs only will introduce more oversteer (car is "looser"). Tough to say exactly how much, though. Given that the stock suspension has a slight understeer bias, adding rear springs only may balance the car out, or they may actually bias it towards oversteer... Looks good Rich! How do you like them, so far??
I've had a couple of chances to take mine up to high speed in the twisties and the car handles better than it did stock IMHO. (installed them ten months ago and wouldn't change them back for anything!). You do tend to look for smooth roads

I took my neighbor out for a ride the other day because he hadn't riden in it since I put in the BamaChips tune. It was the first time that I leaned on the car through the gears and I think with the lower rear springs helped with the weight tranfer, although it got real loose when I hit 2nd gear. I love the new look and think it was a great investment. Thanks for your input Paul.

If you are looking to save some cash, just cut the rear springs yourself... exactly one coil off the top of the springs will drop the car about 3/4" and level out the car. That's what did. Cost me nothing more than a few cut-off wheels and a couple hours one weekend. Do a search and you should find instructions on doing this.

Looks good, enjoy.

The springs can also be found @ summit racing, or the complete kit.

I got mine from stage3 as well. Definately a big difference in the look of the car, but sounds like you already are enjoying them.

Reviving an old thread here, looking for some feedback from guys that over the past year have had the Roush or some other rear lowering spring installed, or have cut only the rear springs by a coil or two.

Any problems with bottoming out? Have to go back and trip the bump stop? Ride harshness? Noise/vibration? How does it ride with a couple of passengers in the back? Did you have to get an adjustable panhard bar or LCA's?

Thanks for the info! I'm putting some 295's on the back, which will jack up the rear another .65", so that, along with the 1.0" the rear end is already higher than the front, I'm gonig to have to lower it otherwise the back end will be over 1.5" taller than the front (yikes!) But I'm worried about fender well clearnace and tires rubbing with the lowering.

Thanks for the feedback!

I have never had anyone in the back seat of my car so I can't answer that. I bottomed out once on a big pothole that I couldn't avoid. I just ordered the Roush front springs with their struts and shocks because I felt that I finally wanted a matching suspension. I am going to cut the top section off of the axle bumpstop when I do the install. Really haven't have any issues since I have had the rears in. BTW I am also going to add the BMR panhard bar.

Well, since you revived your own post, you should also consider the BMR brackets for the LCA and UCA to relocate the anchor points. With the chassis lowered you also lowered the rear instant center. Whether you have noticed or not, the car will now tend to squat on acceleration / launch and the way to correct that is to re-establish a higher instant center again. You have also thrown your pinion angle off too and need either adjustable LCA and / or UCA to correct that at the same time.

If you have not added already, the Tokio Spec D's are just the thing to tame those higher rater springs too. Maybe your wife will put them under the christmas tree for you?
