Roush Offroad Extreme vs FRPP/Borla Stingers
Roush Offroad Extreme vs FRPP/Borla Stingers
I'm currently running FRPP Stingers and I really like it but I think want something a little more aggressive. Is this noticably louder? http://store.roushperformance.com/detail.aspx?ID=1133
Anyone running this Roush exhaust now?

i have really been thinking about this exhaust to replace my coffins. I was going go with the full borla setup that included the stingers and the tubing to the h-pipe but that is close to an $800 investment where the Roush kit is about the same as a set of Stingers.
Nick, have you heard Stingers on an 05-09 as well? Would you say yours is louder?
I have listened to some clips and it seems as though the Roush does "growl" more/louder than Stingers and that's what I am looking for. I'm basically looking for as loud as I can get without doing a complete muffler delete or removing the CATs.

I have my Borlas on... installed them a few months ago!
In the beginning I loved the sound i could really tell the difference.
Can't even feel the drone anymore!
I think I got used to it...
Good thing I'm installing my kooks Headers in a few days and O/R X so i can feel the rumble once again!

I have the pypes mid muffler system and the roush looks very similar. The mid muffler gives a more refined sound vs an axleback (stingers). I had the stingers too and loved them but my PMM gives the same throaty sound of the stingers but more refined and without the drone. I would definently say go for the roush. It looks like a great exhaust..

There are a bunch of videos of the Roush exhaust on 2010 Mustangs on youtube, check them out.
if thats the case then really i just need the axle-backs since i already have an offroad H pipe so i just need a new exhaust. The coffins are fun but they are overly loud and drown like theres no tomorrow.
The Roush exhaust is supposed to be very loud, louder than Stingers even, as it is essentially straight pipes with resonators.
Either one is going to be really loud w/ an O/R H.

I have a friend with SLP's but we haven't had our cars side-by-side since I got my exhaust. My dad has a Bullitt and when it's running side-by-side with mine, you can't tell his is on without checking the RPM guage. Not kidding. 4" tips, straight pipes with resonators, can be installed yourself. Highly recommend them. They get people's attention in a pretty big way, if that's what you're looking for.

I wouldn't even notice if someone with just mufflers and an o/r mid pipe pulled up beside me
