Rotorpro Users Report In
I have a front and rear set of Rotorpro drilled/slotted rotors that I would like to get some feedback on. I have heard all kinds of stories about drilled rotors developing stress cracks and breaking. My car is basically a street car with a trip to a nearby road course once or twice a year. I was wondering if any of you that have these have any issues? Please let me know how many miles you have on them too. Thanks~

I too would like to get a set in the near future and am curious about issues..one issue I do know about is even the zinc coated ones rust on the inner and outer edges and in the drilled and slotted parts. tom(89trooper) painted his on these sections and it seems to have corrected the problem.

Well I am debating weather to even add these rotors and that is why I am asking if anyone has a specific problem with this brand. I appreciate most people's opinion on this board and I guess at the end of the day I do what I want. What's your point? You didn't add anything constructive to my post.

There's been a couple of instances of cracked drilled/slotted Rotorpros on Lightnings:

Bill, awesome pic's!! Now are those black Zinc rotors from Rototpro?? I see you have the black chrome bullitt rims. I have been debating whether to get them myself. After looking at your pic's they may have to be added to my x-mas wish list!! ha ha...I am planning on trying to find someone who can coat my Cervinis grills in black chrome over the winter.. wonder how that with matching rims would look. I even have a blk chrm wathc to match. Nice pics man.

Ok here is my question to all of you. I want the granatelli rotors because they are slotted and dimpled and come in that nice black finish, now, would it be better if i went with Rotorpros crossdrilled and slotted in black or stick with my choice for Granatellis? Do Rotorpros have an advantage over the others? How far does Rotorpros warrenty go as far as the drilled holes cracking? Would i be loosing cooling performance if i stick to dimpled and slotted from Rotorpro instead of crossdrilled? Is there a difference between Granatellis rotors and Rotorpros rotors if both are dimpled and slotted?

Only thing to be aware of with dimpled rotors is the noise. As the rotors pass through the pads, the gasses escaping from the dimples make a popping sound. Kind of like a card against the spokes of a bycicle. I put EBC slotted/dimpled rotors on my wife's car (Stratus R/T) and it took me a while to figure out what the sound was. Drives me crazy. Can't hear it with the windows up though.
