Revs Slow To Drop

This past Sunday, I cleaned my throttle body with nothing other than a shop towel. Lots of soot came off. Now, the car not only revs higher it also hangs and is slow to drop to the proper idle speed. Gonna take a look at it again tonight. What should I focus on? Any idea as to what is causing this?

I thought this was normal. if I put my car in N while moving it will take a few for it to idle down to normal idle. Its done that since new

Was just in the garage checking everything again and its all tight and nothing was in the way of the throttle body blades. Haven't driven it yet, will do so shortly.

Could it really be normal for the car to be slow to drop to idle speed with a performance tune installed? I've been running the C&L Racer Intake and Tune for over two years now with no problems whatsoever. The throttle hanging appeared after cleaning the throttle body. I must say I'm very confused.

Jon,

How long is is hanging, is it hanging at a constant RPM, and where does it idle exactly? Many people clean their throttle bodies to get rid of idle/surge issues and low RPMs. Before I cleaned mine, my RPMs would drop way too quickly and would drop too low, almost stalling the car. Maybe you just got used to it driving that way, and now that it’s clean is seems strange?

Tim

Jon this same thing happened to me when I cleaned my throttle body. All I had to do was reload my tune and all was well again...
