no downside at all to the pullies, except for maybe the install process.

Underdrive pulleys slow down the belt, in effect the water pump at idle and the alternator will not be at full potential... so it is not exactly 100% safe, although i havent heard of anyone with problems with them.... some older cars have over heating problems sometimes...

I was thinking of some BS like that. AS long as the car doesn't blow up I'm happy.

Well I dont know the ratios, BUT, the Harmonic balancer is smaller, BUT the water pulley is larger. SO the only thing that slows down is the AC, power steering and alternator. (basically)

larger pulley spins slower... so your water pump spins slower... i dont think it is a big deal i have had pulley on all my stangs never had a problem

Good catch on the hot radiater hose crossing under the intake. Nothing like pre-heating your air charge...

Seems like an easy fix would be to fab a heat shield out of light gauge stainless.

I really like your pages, very informative! If I could feel a change in the horsepower on my car when I had my pulleys installed I could only imagine with your car. Have fun, at this rate by the time spring roles around your car will be ready for shows.

Go place a bracket / spacer that has low heat transfer properties. I would not pretend to know what that would be thought I was going to try to fab some type of plastic bracket.

Please ask the shop what kind of puller they used to remove the crank pulley. I am going to assume it was one that has grips you place behind the balancer & the press section will go against the crank. Also what size if possible. Looks tight down there.

Did you use the stock belt or do you have to change to a different size?

On your heat shield. A quick fix could be a piece of roll bar padding that you can place between the water hose & intake hose. The padding can be cut & shaped to fit either hose & can then be attached with a wire tie. Will not conduct heat & is fire proof.

Thx again for all your info.

The pulleys use the stock belt. I will have to ask them what size they used to remove it.

I will give the rollbar padding a try today. You think I can pickup some of that padding like at Lowes ?

Also, I am going to baclout my back trunk between the taillights I hope it works out well.

Thanks for your help

The Hot Rod shop should have a piece of padding kicking around. You will only need a short piece to cover the water hose.

If not Lowes may have something you can use, get black so you don't see it.

I'm having Boss stripes done soon hopefully & I also want to black out the back. Pics please.

Thank you Bryan for your reviews its been a big help! B) For the radiator hose isue I went with header high heat tape. It seems to have worked pretty well.I just wraped the hose under the air intake tube. Im curious to see the MMR race upgrade,If it will allow more space between the hose/air tube?

A small strip of wood between them or one inch ID foam water pipe insulation in the small hose quick and cheap hardware store fix.
