Recommended Short Throw for TR-3650?

Recommended Short Throw for TR-3650?

I know the MGW carries a great reputation on the forums, but I was curious if there are any recommendations for a bolt-on short throw that isn't adjustable? I don't want something that I can mess up by adjusting it incorrectly or having the adjustments come loose. What's wrong with the Steeda, Roush, or Barton shifters? Or is the MGW the only short-throw to get? I have a 07 GT with the 5-speed manual. A friend at work who is an old-school Mopar driver knew right away I didn't have a short throw just by looking at me shifting.

I have the MGW on my 2006 GT, its absolutely amazing.....sorry, not much help I know.

There are different feels & different opinions from every consumer.

The Steeda Tri Ax shifter has gone through many tests and studies and we have determind that the 20% throw is ideal for the driver, the transmission and ultimately for not missing a gear.

Our shifter gives you the confidence that when you shift from 2nd to 3rd gear that you will hit the correct gear as oppose

d to having a gummy feeling and shifting back into 1st , into 5th, or just missing a shift. Our shifter has crossed the finish line in first place more times than the competition and that is something we are proud of.

Charlie ! There's also the Hurst billet competition plus short throw shifter that's non-adjustable as well.. it's right up there along with Steeda, Roush and Barton..

I've the Pro 5.0 shifter on my 07 for many years. The design I think is close to the Tri-Ax shifter. Works well for me but I have never tried the others.

I really like the Hurst Billet Comp+ I put in our '08 with TR3650. I even like how easy it is to make an extension to raise the handle a bit (1.5" taller now and ext. is hidden under boot) and I prefer the looks and feel and not having my elbow hitting the console lid.


Transmission also really likes the conventional Merc/DexIII better than the Mobile Synthetic ATF I had in it ..... shifts great now!

I had a Triax. Sold it and got the MGW. That was in 2007. Love the MGW, and I have adjusted it once, when I first installed it. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even tell you how to adjust it now it has been so long.


Not to impugn the Triax, it's a good shifter too. It's all personal preference.
