Recommended Short Throw for TR-3650?

I know the MGW carries a great reputation on the forums, but I was curious if there are any recommendations for a bolt-on short throw that isn't adjustable? I don't want something that I can mess up by adjusting it incorrectly or having the adjustments come loose. What's wrong with the Steeda, Roush, or Barton shifters? Or is the MGW the only short-throw to get? I have a 07 GT with the 5-speed manual. A friend at work who is an old-school Mopar driver knew right away I didn't have a short throw just by looking at me shifting.

There are different feels & different opinions from every consumer.

The Steeda Tri Ax shifter has gone through many tests and studies and we have determind that the 20% throw is ideal for the driver, the transmission and ultimately for not missing a gear.

Our shifter gives you the confidence that when you shift from 2nd to 3rd gear that you will hit the correct gear as oppose

d to having a gummy feeling and shifting back into 1st , into 5th, or just missing a shift. Our shifter has crossed the finish line in first place more times than the competition and that is something we are proud of.

Would love to get you into the Tri Ax ... shoot me a note at tim@steeda.com & well run the numbers!

Best Regards,

TJ

Charlie ! There's also the Hurst billet competition plus short throw shifter that's non-adjustable as well.. it's right up there along with Steeda, Roush and Barton..

I've the Pro 5.0 shifter on my 07 for many years. The design I think is close to the Tri-Ax shifter. Works well for me but I have never tried the others.

I really like the Hurst Billet Comp+ I put in our '08 with TR3650. I even like how easy it is to make an extension to raise the handle a bit (1.5" taller now and ext. is hidden under boot) and I prefer the looks and feel and not having my elbow hitting the console lid.

Transmission also really likes the conventional Merc/DexIII better than the Mobile Synthetic ATF I had in it ..... shifts great now!

I had a Triax. Sold it and got the MGW. That was in 2007. Love the MGW, and I have adjusted it once, when I first installed it. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even tell you how to adjust it now it has been so long.

Not to impugn the Triax, it's a good shifter too. It's all personal preference.
