Recommendations?

I'm thinking about an upgraded axel back. Right now I'm looking at the Pypes Violators or the Flowmaster 17410 or American thunder.... Also whats the difference between a chamber muffler and the straight through design? I mainly want to improve sound... Thanks

improving sound is VERY subjective. Straight through mufflers (glasspacks) use sound absorbing materials to achieve their tone. Chambered mufflers use baffles and sometimes mix with absorbing material. Best bet is to listen to cars IN PERSON to see what you like. I just installed the Pypes mid muffler system on mine and really like the sound. Had Macs before and those are also great IMO.

+1 on Mac. Great sound. I would personally stay away from stainless mufflers. Higher pitch than welded aluminum.

Everyone is going to have a difference answer here. Listen around and see what you like and go from there. Don't use youtube as the majority of the videos do NOT do the exhaust justice. I'm not particularly fond of flowmasters on the 3v motors. Now pushrod 5.0s and 2v 4.6 motors they sound pretty good. I'm running magnaflows on my 2005 currently (not the magnapacks) and they were just a little louder than stock to begin with. Now with my longtube headers and o/r hpipe they are incredible.

Run by some car shows and ask around and listen...

My muffs are stock but from what I have read you have your "tinny" sounds all the way to a deep bellow. Let the guys know what sound your looking for. I agree with the Youtube comment, you can't really get a audio clip of exhaust.

I have GT 500 stock mufflers on my 2012 GT Automatic. Nice sound at idle and can hear it when you get on it.
