If you want to drop 1'' and keep your stock ride go with Steeda Sport Springs. I have them and the car rides fine. My son just lowered the rear of his '05 only and it looks great. I'm seeing more and more guys lower the rear only. Since I've got the Whipple and the extra weight up front from that, I'm considering putting my stockers back in up front. I ordered his springs from Steeda and they didn't have a problem selling just the rears.

variables generally get the nod for ride comfort, look for a rear variable rate spring that has a beehive shape to it, not surprisingly enough due to the same reason why they use beehive springs in modern engines.

It is interesting to note that the new Bullitt has standard GT springs in the front and is lowered an inch in the rear.

Ford's official reason for the high rear suspension is ''to accomodate snow chains''.
