Ready for my next modification - Headers and/or H/X off road pipe, help me please!
Hi there
Right I want to make my next modification to my Saleen S281.
The car is a Saleen S281 with the following modifications:-
1. Tunable Induction Cold Air Induction Kit
2. SCT/Demolet Octane 93 Tune
3. Saleen Underdrive Pulleys with SFI approved damper
4. Saleen 2.5" Variable flow performance exhaust
Now I want more power and the next best method of gaining more power for the Mustang from my research is from a combination of Long Tube Headers with Off road H or X pipe. The only issue I am worried about is if Headers and/or off road H or X pipes are compatible with my Saleen exhaust.
Too further assist those who can try helping me here are some pictures of the Saleen exhaust and the underneath of my car:-
Saleen 2.5" variable performance exhaust fitted to my car as stand and I WANT TO KEEP THIS!

View from back of car to the front!

I am guessing this is the H-Pipe section of the stock exhaust and those clamps connect it to the rest of system or keep the exhaust from falling of the car?

Another view from the rear!

First of all now you've all seen my exhaust is it possible to mod it, or is it a complete welded one piece? Or are the sections held together by the clamps or do those clamps merely keep the exhaust system from falling of the car? Sorry if these questions seem dumb but I really do not know so need help please. If I do get an off-road H/X Pipe will I be able to fit without having to weld or is my current exhaust completely welded as one piece?
So is it possible to get some more power from my exhaust system or is it already a good setup, as I am guessing the only modification Saleen made is just the centre back box section and as such the headers and h-pipe are all standard?
I am guessing the easiest modification is maybe just an off-road H or X Pipe from Pypes that Brenspeed and RPMoutlet sell? Does anybody know anywhere offering some good/better deals?
Whats the difference between X-Pipes, H-Pipes and Prochambers? Which one gives the most power and what type of sounds do they give? What kind of power improvement can I expect to get to my car by adding one of these off-roads pipes and is it something the BUTT-DYNO can feel? I don't want my car to drone but the car has no limits on noise, the louder the better. Also what is this trumpeting people mention? Is fitting off-road H/X pipes a big job, does it require engine dropping?
Now I am guessing the ultimate power comes from adding say maybe JBA Long Tube Headers along with a JBA H-Pipe or some Kooks Long Tube Headers with X-Pipe. Out of the JBA and Kooks option which gives the most power? Though I've seen worrying issues about the JBA's needing new engine mounts (where can I get these?) and surface rust been a problem, is there an option availabe to prevent the surface rust?
If I do go long tube headers is fitting them a big job? Does the engine need dropping/taking out or can they be fitted with the engine in place?
So those are my questions, if fitting long tube headers means taking engine out then it may not be so worthwhile.
If I go for just an off road H/X pipe that should give me an improvement, anybody able to give me a rough idea? Though if I got long tube headers as well how much further power would those give too?
I am guessing an off-road H/X pipe is worth approx 8-12 RWHP along with more torque and if I go for say JBA Long Tube headers with JBA off road H-Pipe I am guessing that combo would give upto 20-25 RWHP more?
I am really sorry to go on but I have to make sure I get my purchases right as it cost quite a lot money to ship products across the pond to us in the UK and I don't want my mechanics saying they won't work/fit with my car.
So a big thanks in advance to all those who can help me and offer advise.
