Read end rebuild price???

Called one guy so far. He quoted me $480 for labor. Seems kinda steep to me but I beat the **** out of my car and if it's gonna be a quality job I don't really care. Any ideas? I'm in central Florida if that makes a difference...

Yea no doubt. I'm at 66k. Worth having everything replaced or just the ring, pinion, and whatever needs attention?

LOL. you still haven't gotten them gears in . I think back in the beginning of february when you started this quest ( 3.73s righ) you said you had a guy at the shop you where in who could do it but was slow, what happened? I'll give you my honest answer I gave you at 62K, really doubt you need anything other than the gears and install kit. Just like I stated make sure it is done right 99% of the time guys get gears done and they have noise, and noise isn't normal. In Fla you have to have a darn good speed shop with a good rep around you and in daytona for sure.

Haha yea man I changed to LTs but then the noise started so now I'm back to gears lol. Still want 373s though. I have my guy at the shop but for a few bucks I'll get it done by someone that does em all day and I'll have a warranty... Prolly just gonna let ford do it

Talking with a few of my friends today and some shops I use ( I was now curious) cost seems to be about $500 range including gears and speedo correction. I paid more looking at my old slips but I had a total rebuild, new diff., all the bearings , seals , axles, etc. so $400 w/o gears or speedo correction is nuts. For a 1st timer yeah a gear swap is not easy, for a good shop..money job.

Same thing I was getting at earlier. Got a young guy that works on pretty much nothing but Mustangs at his shop, does gears on a daily basis. Quoted my friend $480 out the door for gears, pinon bearing, clutches, lube, labor, etc.
