Re-Tune pricing???

I've been wanting to get a custom tune for the past few months but had a couple of questions:
  • If I get a tune and just have a cold air kit but later on down the road buy a shaker system, UDP's, tires and rims and change my gears how much will it cost to get it retuned?
  • Should I just go ahead and get the tune with only an axle back and cold air kit installed?
  • Or should I slowly buy everything and install it and get it tuned all at the same time?
  • Do you need a new tune for UDP's, Shaker system, gears, tires and rims? Or can I just enter this information into the SCT myelf?
Sorry for the novel.

If you go to a custom tuner around your area, he's going to charge you a lot.

Now if you happen to go with Doug @ BamaChips, you wont have that problem. He will give you a tune for your CAI. and then later on down the road he will either send you a new tune via EMAIL free or he will show you how the change the "parameters" on the tune you have so your car will be up to speed with the gear change, tire/rim size. You can simply do it yourself pretty much is what I'm saying

No, a shaker system does not require a tune, a shaker system does nothing for power, its a "show" piece and you do not need to retune for UD pullies as well, pullies are bolt and go!

That is not nessesarily true. I had a local tuner in my area do a custom tune on my '05 GT. He charged me $500 for the XCal2 and a 2 hour custom dyno tune. At that time my only mods were a JLT CAI and Bassani cats, x-pipe and axle back. We ended up making 299 rwhp and 323 rwtq so I would definatly say go for the tune with just those mods.
Also, Since then if I have any minor changes such as gears, wheel size etc he e-mails me the changes for free or just shows me how to tune for them myself. Additionally, he said if I wanted to do any future dyno tunes he would give me a good deal since I already have the XCal2.
I am just telling you this so that you don't rule out the custom tune idea. I have heard BamaChips does great tunes but IMO a custom tune is always going to be better than a canned tune b/c no two cars are exactly the same. Check out http://www.sctflash.com and put in your zip code and it will list the SCT certified tuners in your area. Call around and see what they charge and how knowledgeable they are. That is how I found the guy who tuned mine. Good luck.

Actualy, I didn't get the 4.10's yet. However, I did get 18" wheels which changed my speedo slightly. I am hoping to do the 4.10's before the end of the summer.
