Some may remember my last test had a 87 diablo tune and 4.30 gears stock tires and ran 13.54 @ 103.25. Today in same weather conditions with 3.73's in and 87 tune ran 13.66 @ 101.40. And had to fight for that(raise shift points). Bottom line is a went through the traps at 5900 rpm with the 4.30 gear and 5000 rpm with the 3.73's. So my top end charge was off. But et close. Now really getting ready for some mods, better tune and converter. Note: also down loaded a 91 tune (I had 89 octane in the tank today) and did not pick up at all in two runs. Ran 13.67 @ 101.15 and then took 2% timing out and went 13.69 @ 100.63. I feel like the 87 tune is faster. Go figure. Thanks.BTW 60 ' with 4.30 was 2.05 and today ran 2.03, 2.07, and 2.06 with 73's,.
2.07 60' 5.78 330' 8.81 @ 80.94 13.66 @ 101.40- 87 tune.

sorry to hear that it slowed down a little w/ the 3.73's, but w/ you future mods, sounds like it will be the gear of choice.

Actually thats pretty close to what I would expect. I've done the math and to me the 3.73 seems to be the best all around gear for the auto. 2nd and 3rd gears should be the same as a 4.30 gear in a standard transmission car, but the two problems are the convertor and 4th gear. I'd stick with that for now and wait and see what kind of convertor comes out for these cars. Look at it this way you are only a tenth off and a couple mph with alot less gear and probably better gas milage and diveability. Your 60 ft didn't drop either. Thanks for testing both gears and at least giving us some info to work with too.

Thanks Mike
