Where did you find a Ram Air kit for a Mustang? Or are you refering to one of the aftermarket functional hood scoops?

WMS makes a ram air for the 2005-8 Mustang GT. Ram air only outperforms a CAI when you're up to speed. For illustration, I used to own a 2003 Mach 1 (with the factory Shaker hood scoop). The Ford engineers told me that it was worth 25 additional horsepower, but not until you were going 80+ mph, so you wouldn't see it register on a dyno.

Ram air is proven performance any day of the week. It came factory back in the 60's and 70's on some cars.

The last SS Camaro's and Firebirds that were made both came with Ram Air hood's from the factory. GM stated back than that the ram air option was worth 10 hp @ 80 mph. Sitting still or at slow speeds they are worth nothing. I only know this because my best friend has a 2002 SS Camaro and I saw it in writing when he bought the car. Just get a good CAI and enjoy the extra power from idle on up! Ohh...I have a 70 Mach 1 with a shaker hood. It just looks good...that's all.

No such thing as ram-air in a car, at sub sonic speeds air cannot be compressed like that, ram air for cars provides cooler air in greater volume. The increase in density is due to temperature, not pressure.

I have that setup with a bigass hood scoop. It works awesome.

is that a cervinis hood on your car 2kanchoo? not to steal the thread but it looks like the one i just ordered from them. how was the fit and finish? is that the ram air kit that you can buy seperately? mine is at the body shop right now waiting to get painted along with some other goodies. is the ram air kit better than the cai in YOUR opinion ( i know everybody is giving their opinions here but it seems you have the exact same hood that i do)

What happens in the rain? Or if it starts raining and you are out somewhere? I can see water spots on your ramair plate... Did you put a drain hole in it?

I have the WMS setup too and thought about the "california dreaming" hood, but even in SoCal I need to be "all weather"...

That's likely correct, but it still works - whatever the physical explanation is. I converted my 1968 Pontiac GTO from a non Ram Air hood/filter to the Ram Air setup and saw a 2 tenths of a second improvement in the 1/4 mile. I've been a believer ever since.

Yea it's the cervinis hood. The fitment and quality was exceptional. They make good shlt. Yes that's a complete intake kit from wmsracing.com

There really isn't a way to tell unless a dyno guy had a fan that could blow strong enough to actually simulate highway speed airflow. Or wind tunnel. As far as I'm concerned I don't see how it could NOT help. I mean the airflow going into that hood directly forced into the air filter would be huge. Atleast this way you KNOW the filter is taking in the absolute maximum amount of air it physically can.

I usually try to avoid the rain but I have driven it in a full downpoor and it was fine. I thought I might get hydrolock but it ran pefectly fine and I never had any problems then or after.
