I like loud, but a sleeper is a cool approach but It is a stang people will feel the power as you pull up to them

Whipple sounds no different than a stock motor, untill you get into the boost, then the whine kicks in.

My Vortech unit is very quiet. At idle when the car is warmed up , its hardly noticeable.

Sleeper of course . MX's are awsome. Took a while to get used to how they grip and feel over our crappy roads here. Thanks for the congrats, was an awsome time. Ill give ya a ring over lunch.

As for the question at hand, Ive been looking at the wipple, Saleen, and the votech kits. I know most like the whine sound, but i dont - gives me a headache. Id like something as quiet as possible.

If you are building a "sleeper" you may want to look at the Saleen unit. I've heard mixed reviews about the noise it puts out (some are silent whild some tend to "Grind"), but it definitely is the cleanest install. If "supercharger" wasn't embossed on the inlet I bet 90% of people looking wouldn't know it was there. Look at JDM for more info.
I personnally think the Whipple is the best (most complete) kit available. While it is near silent at idle, you aren't going to fool anyone once you hit the throttle.

I can vouch personally for that happening....

As for sound, with the stock 4.0 inch pulley it was very quiet at idle and quiet at normal cruising speeds - did NOT scream "I am running forced induction"..... You heard the blower when you really leaned on it HARD.

After bumping to the 3.6 pulley?
Well idle is the same, maybe a TAD bit louder.

But the minute you hit the pedal anything other than gently, she whines like a chick whose birthday you forgot.

If you want a sleeper get a turbo and don't use a blowoff valve. No wine and they won't hear the wastegate when you shift.

Turbo's make a woosh sound. They're just as easy to hear as a blower.

I have a Saleen supercharger and it is not quiet. It doesn't grind but you can hear the whine even at idle. The whine gets louder as the rpm's increase. Why do you even care if it is quiet though? When you pull away really fast people are going to know you have something. If you want true silence use nitrous. It doesn't make a whine noise and if you don't let people see the purge they won't know you have it until it is too late.

I have heard Saleen, Whipple, Procharger, Magnacharger and Vortech blowers in person, and my KB is quieter than any of them. I like it that way, too.

for fit I would say whipple or saleen as I have heard vortechs are a pain sometimes. Any of them are going to whine in the upper boost levels

My Kenne Bell doesn't whine at all... even at 12psi and 6500rpm.
