quick question for the saleen s/c people
i saw another thread, where people were having the belt slipping on the blower pulley, and some people were saying that it was due to using an x-pipe/high flow cats. does anyone have the saleen with the bassani x and compcats? this is the setup i am running, and i dont want to have to remove it. also, i am planning on running a 6-8# pulley, would this make the belt slipping more likely to happen?

I don't see how the two could be related.

Read this for the speculation as to why they might be related:

I wonder if the added backpressure due to cats vs. no cats allows the engine to build boost faster (because of the restriction) and gives the illusion of less belt slip. That said, I also wonder if an 8-rib system is in the works for all of these kits that use the factory drive belt? Hopefully one of the truck applications uses an 8-rib and has all or most of the Ford pulleys we need.
It works... just needs a little notch on the underside of the hood (from what I have read).
i would think it might not clear the reversed altnator. As the stock air tube is small and flexable. The c&l is larger and ridged meaning you would need a Throttle body coupler that is 3 inches longer and the angle have tobe changed a bit get past the alternator and clear the power streering res. Tunable induction is working on a huge intake that will clear and will have a 90mm or 95mm mass air housing.
Does anyone know how much higher the top of the blower sits over stock height?
I have the K&N, but I don't remember the Saleen being much different in terms of TB location. Or is that because of a height difference?

the tunable induction 05 system is out. check out the link. will this work with the saleen blower?? or am i gonna just have to use the stock hose, and use the JDM air kit thingee.

I believe it between 1-1/2 -2" The reason a big round plastic plastic will not work is when you extend the couple 3" to clear the alternator the top of the round pipe will hit the reinforcement of the hood. Ford just had to put the brace right in the way. anyway if the plastic opening is made to be a little oval it should clear with a little rubbing. Or if the the coupler is made of rubber and give a little flex that should work. I believe that is part of the reason saleen doesn't any kind of oversized mass air or cold air kit made for their supercharger. on the other hand it could also have a little to do with CARB stuff. Like air noise. Anyway hopefully in the next week of to i'll be getting proto type from one of the forum vendors.
What is the recommended setup for the Saleen blower for everyday street use? I'd like to make as much power as possible but still drive my car to work everyday and not burn through tires.
don, it almost looks like the TB is close to the same place, but from the TB back it rises up. The way the engine sits in these cars I'd imagine the front closer to the throttle body is where all the clearance issues will arise.
btw, any word on when you might be able to get yours set up?

We will be installing my KB this weekend.
