Would greatly appreciate any quick advice on my upcoming purchase for my '05 GT - this week I am getting either the Bassani or Magnaflow cat-back exhaust and just would like to hear any positives/negatives on the systems that anyone might have, including price. Thanks so much!

These items are the kind of things that are very personal. It is totally up to you what kind of sound you want from your ride. Have you listened to all of the sounds from the exhaust thread? I have installed a set of Bassani's on my wife's 04 Gt and they are great for her. Not too loud and the sound is deep. I myself went with the MagnaPacks on my 05. The pacs are ALOT louder than the Bassani's on hers but to each their own.

Both are great systems. I assume you're comparing apples to apples by looking at the stainless steel Bassani kit, since the Magnaflow is stainless.

I chose the Bassani because it's alittle louder than the Magnaflow. Both are deep sounding systems, but the Magnaflow is only slightly louder than stock. Depends on what you're looking for; for me, it was Bassani.

If you decide on the Magnaflows, PM me... I may have a set for sale pretty soon.

I have had both the Magnaflow axle-back and the Bassani on my car, and I much prefer the sound of the Bassani... it's also a little bit louder. The Magnapacks are of course louder than the Bassanis but the sound is a lot less refined also. The Bassani is fairly loud, and also has a nice smooth tone. They are a little bit more expensive I think, but well worth it IMO.

Thanks for the info - it seems like Bassani is the better choice but one question - is the Bassani sound so loud that its obnoxious and can be heard for miles? I love the V8 rumble but I do not want to be looked at as the hineyhole that wakes up the neighborood. Thanks!!

I would have to say the Bassani is the better option IMO as well based on hearing them both

and if it didn't you would have gotten a slap on the wrist for trying to bypass the language filters

Anyway, I had the magnaflows and then went to the magnapaks because the flows were not loud enough for me. However, no the neighbours, and my wife, complain about the "loud" exhaust on my car.

How are these systems on the freeway? Do they resonate in the cabin at certain RPM ranges?

I'd really like to be a bit louder in and around the city, but crusing on the freeway I really want a quiet cabin. I've riden with friends who have such loud exhaust that at freeway speeds you can't even hold a conversation.

FRPP/Borla...

I'd say Bassani but your best bet is to hear the exhaust in person. The sound clips are good but don't give you the exact sound. Either system is nice so you can't go wrong either way.

I like my Magnaflows. They sound deep and are louder than the stockers. I also noticed that they drone less on the highway. My exhaust is loud, but that's because of my OR X.
