I am looking to install an Autometer shift light in my 05. I am going to go with the small one, ATM 5331 (silver). Question I have is, do I have to also get the distributor adapter with the RPM activated switch to make it work?

It looks to me like I need:
ATM 5331 shift light
ATM 9117 distributor adapter
ATM 5356 pills
ATM 5310 RPM activated switch (for light)

Do I need all this?

I have no idea what all you will need for the Autometer light.
For my Raptor Performance shift light, it simply hooked in to the green lead on one of the coil packs. Was a piece of cake to hook up.

The Autometer light is just that, a light. How and when it is triggered is the real questions.

I wish I could help but I don't have one. With the light you selected, I'm pretty sure you need the pills and the RPM module. No idea about the distributor adapter.

I would suggest a Raptor shift light. They don't require any pills or modules and will save you a lot of money.
