question on adding S/C to a "mature" engine

What "should" be done to an engine in the 40K-60K range before adding a S/C? It'll be a couple of more years before I am able to put a KB on mine and wondered what if any upgrades I should do. It'll be low boost, nothing over 500rwhp.

If there's a lot to do would just buying a built block be the better way to go?

thanks
Chris

Get gt 500 fuel pumps and keep it around 450rwhp (stock) with a good tune and you will be fine.

Keep under 10 lbs. boost and under 450 RWHP you should be okay.
Believe me you can have fun with it at that range.

I don't think that's too old. 100k you'd prolly be better off rebuilding it.

I plan on dumpin a whipple on mine when it's around 55k on it next year only cuz I don't have the funds this year.

Just take care of the engine until you can do the supercharger. Regular oil changes with a good synthetic oil (I use Royal Purple exclusively), change the fuel filter regularly, and use quality gasoline from a good dealer. Don't go buying gas from Habib's Fuel Stop-Quickie Mart-Dry Cleaners-Habadashery and expect the car to be fine.

When you step up for the blower get the fuel system upgraded, new injectors, new fuel filter, and get a GOOD tune for around 450 rwhp. Like the others have said, you can have fun at 450 hp.
