Question about Doug's tunes

I am getting ready to order the Street C&L CAI with the SCT II and can't make up my mind completely on which tunes to get. I was planning on the 87 Performance, 91 Performance and 93 Race tune. Is this a good choice? For those of you with Doug's tunes which did you go with?

Why the mix of 91 and 93 octane tunes? Around here the 93 is 5 cents more per gallon or less than a dollar on a fill up.
With the same octane rating the race and the performance are very close... Doug will tell you to get the torque with either the race or the performance tune.

Ok. How about the 87 Performance, 93 torque, 93 race? Do you think this would be better? What is the difference between the race and the performance? The main reason I want to keep one tune at a lower octane is if I can't find a place with 93 when I need it. Most are 92 around here.

That's exactly what I got, for the same reasons. Turns out I keep the 93 Race on most of the time...why? Well the 93 Tq is great for partial throttle driving.....but then there's always the chance a pesky Hemi powered something, or a 350Z, etc, shows up and wnats to run, and then the Tq tune leaves you yearning for the high rpm power...the 93Race had plenty low end torque...I know, I use it daily in Houston traffic. The main difference between the 93Race and 93 Perf tunes is the trhottle reponse and just more agresiveness....the 93 Race can almost make the throttle feel twitchy, its so good! Go for 93Race, 93Tq, and 87Perf (for emergencies). You won't look back. Doug himself will tell you getting the 93Race and 93Perf together is a waste of a tune.

Just one more question before I place an order. Is it worth the extra $50 to go with Bamachips over Brenspeed?

I can't answer that question, because I've only ever tested the Bamachips tunes, but i can tell you that you'll be satisfied with the Bamachips tune, and with his service.

Cool deal. I will just be happy with a throttle response improvement and firmer shifts. Right now it feels like my wife's Maxima would walk all over it.

Cool. I love the sound of them now. I just wish the 07 had the lopey cam sound that my blown 89 does. Maybe one of these days after the warranty is gone.
